n my last article, I spoke about eliminating or reducing the inflammatory burden that can ravage our bodies. The topic of inflammation is vast, and it was hard to summarize in a single article. I will have the same issue as I attempt to tackle that this next topic.
The second step to improving cognition is optimizing hormones, nutrients, and trophic factors. How is this done? I'm going to steal a quote used in the business world from the sales guru Peter Drucker, "If you can't measure it, you can't improve it." Testing is critical to find out where you stand regarding hormones, nutrients, and trophic factors.
When testing hormones, you have several options; serum or blood, saliva, and urine. Finding out your nutrient status and trophic factors both require a blood test.
