Each week I wrack my brain to develop a topic for the weekly article that I write. Some weeks, it is pretty easy to come up with a topic, while other weeks can be painful. Then you have weeks like this one when you get an idea from a patient who asks you a question. The question asked was about a two-month-old child and if they needed to be on any specific supplements. The question also coincided with spending a weekend with my nine-month-old granddaughter, so it seemed fitting to touch on the topic of newborns and children under the age of 1 year old.
